About Lorri

Instructor, Trainer, Barn Manager

Welcome!  I'm Lorri Biamonte of Biamonte Stables.  I've been involved with horses since I was a young child.  They truly  are my passion.  I work with horses on a full-time basis now.  It's all I do and I love it.

I took a little break from horses for a while and pursued a career in health care.  I started out with a diploma in nursing, then got my Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia PA.  Finally, I got my Masters of Science degree as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of Pennsylvania, also in Philadelphia PA.  It was a very round about, time consuming, expensive, and exhausting path that lead me to realize that all along, I still belonged in the barn (which I am still trying to explain to my husband!).  So here I am.  I teach and train full-time now.  I love working with the people and with the horses.  It's hard work, but it's fun.

It is very important to me that my clients have a good time, and that they learn safe horse habits and riding skills.  The emphasis is on good basics, developing a good balanced seat, and riding with your seat and not your hands.  I don't believe in pressuring.  Some of my students are very serious about showing, and others just want to be able to have a good time on the trail.  It doesn't matter to me- my job is to help each individual reach their goals.  As long as they want to have fun doing it, we're fine.  I especially enjoy working with people and horses that are new to dressage.

I continue to ride, take lessons and show.  It's important for instructors/trainers to keep their skills up and to continue to improve as well!  You never know everything, and there is always room for improvement.  I am a member of the USEF, and the USDF .
