We're on a journey to compete at the international level.

We need your help to get there!  It takes a village!

This program is great for individuals who want to increase their horsemanship knowledge and experience.  This is a great opportunity for those who are considering horse ownership in the future.  It's great exercise and fun. This program is open only to clients and sponsors of Biamonte Stables LLC.

In addition, relieving Lorri of some of her barn duties frees her up for more time in the saddle.  It also reduces her payroll costs, which in turn makes more money available for training and competingAll of which gets us to our goal of competing at the international level!

Each volunteer can sign up for available times and will be supervised by a Biamonte Stables LLC staff member.  Our goal is to assist individuals to gain increased confidence, proficiency, and skill, in the different aspects of horse ownership and care.  As they become more comfortable and proficient, they will gain increasing independence in and around the barn and with the horses.

This is a fun, low pressure way to get comfortable working around horses and learn what it takes to be responsible for one of these beautiful animals.  In addition, we really appreciate the help!  It takes a lot of work to keep things running smoothly in the barn, and every little bit of help is a big deal!  It's also fun to spend time in the barn with the horses and your barn friends.  Even just 15 or 20 minutes before or after your lesson can make a big difference.

There is a volunteer board in the entrance way to the barn, or you can sign up online by clicking this link:

Help is needed on weekdays and on the weekends.  The highest demand of Lorri's time is for stall cleaning on Monday, and Wednesdays and for feeding and turn-out and turn-in.  Assistance with morning feeding is needed on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Assistance with evening feeding is needed everyday.  Turn-out and turn-in happens everyday, twice a day so we can always use help with that!  In addition there are lots of chores that need to be done in and around the barn that do not involve direct handling of the horses.  For example we clean and disinfect our water buckets once a week, all of the flowers need to be watered in the morning and evening, there is always stuff needing to be put away or thrown out.  The list goes on and on.

Again, this program is only open to clients and sponsors of Biamonte Stables LLC.  If you would like more information about this program or are interested in joining the volunteer army, please email Lorri at biamonte@comcast.net   or catch her in the barn and talk to her about it.

01/31/11-  How's it going?  Well, winter is here and it's in high gear.  We could really use the help with snow removal and horse care this time of year!  Having someone come in and just help out with evening feed is such a big help you have no idea!

6/01/09 - How's it going!?  Wow...it's going great!  You wouldn't believe what a difference it makes having a little help around the barn.  I know it doesn't seem like much to you to spend 15-30 mins helping out around the barn.  But when you add up what each person is doing it saves me so much time!  Let me give you some examples:

Courtney has been coming in a little early before her lesson on Saturday and scrubbing the water buckets for me.  I like our horses' water buckets to be cleaned and disinfected once a week.  The horses like it too!  They drink sooo much more on "bucket day"!  That is a job I would normally do on a weekday morning after stalls are done.  Instead I am now free to do something else...like ride, mow pastures etc.  Thank you Courtney!!!

Thursday night is my late night teaching.  My last lesson does not normally finish until 8pm.  Normally I would then still have to hay, water, switch turn out and clean and close up.  By the time I get all of that done I am getting home around 10-10:30pm and sitting down to dinner followed by shower and then to bed.  Theresa has been taking care of those tasks on Thursday evenings before and after her lesson.  I was actually headed home last Thursday at 8:30, so I could eat and get to bed at a reasonable time.  That made getting back to the barn Friday am so much easier!  Thank you Theresa!

Carol has been watering ALL of the flowers for me on Sunday morning!  Now you might think, what a pleasant job.  Why would Lorri not want to do that herself?  It is a great job.  The flowers we have around the barn are lovely, and I enjoy gardening  but, Sunday is the only morning that I do not have to come to the barn to care for the horses or teach.  I only have to come to water flowers.  So I get up on Sunday am and go to the barn just for that.  If I didn't, they would be wilted by the afternoon.  Now instead of going to the barn and watering, I get an hour in at the gym!!!  Gym time is very important for riders!  I have been struggling to get any gym time in and this extra day is really helpful!  Thank you Carol!

So, that's how it is going!  Thanks guys!
